“Baba tell me a story.” Storytelling is way of life for many of us Africans. Our stories are powerful. Oral history is something we are known for; dances, songs, and art tell our stories in the most powerful way. What Black Panther shows is the power of us telling our own story. From that first line, I knew that this movie was going to be lit. In fact, I knew it from when I entered the theater and saw the Africana everywhere. I swelled with pride and when the first scene opened up, I was captivated instantly.
