At the initial stage of the Ebola outbreak the Sierra Leone government was poorly prepared. When the news of Ebola grappled Guinea and Liberia, the health ministry in Sierra Leone convincingly told Sierra Leoneans that the ministry has put preventative measures in place in any advent of Ebola entering Sierra Leone, however, this was false. No preventative measures of substance from the ministry were in place. This was a grave mistake. The nation is now witnessing the rippling affects because of poor planning and preparation. Even though planning and preparation were poor, the reality still remains, most African countries including Sierra Leone are not equipped to handle or manage such crisis as Ebola.
