Unbreakable, amazing women, Ebola, Black Panther & More (Most read blog posts of all time)

When I say I have written about EVERYTHING, it is true. Different things brought people to my blog. There was something for everyone. Nothing highlights that more than the top nine most viewed posts on the blog. Here they are linked below and a short blurb about them:

top ten most viewed posts

Unbreakable Challenge-Day 3: My name is Nkemakonam Linda Guyse (Ijeh): So Linda became a close friend after a mutual friend introduced us because of the posts I was doing, which focused on people sharing their stories of sexual abuse called the Unbreakable Challenge, part of my 365 days posting about rape and sexual abuse. So, Linda was one of the first brave souls to share her story on my platform and it has had 4177 views and most of the traffic is coming from Nigerian blogs, which I guess linked to my blog post.

REALLY? SEX in African movies: This was a funny one. Just when I first started noticing our Nigerian/Ghanaian films having sex scenes I was like what? This post brought some unwanted traffic to my blog though because people searching for porn ended up on my post and I had to revert it to a draft version for awhile before re-publishing it haha (1664 views)

My name is Janice Williams and this is my unbreakable story: The first time I ever shared my story of sexual abuse in a public setting. Of course, I was people said I didn’t share enough and all types of stuff, but I won’t go into that again because I dealt with it then (1651 views).

Mira Koroma of Family Support Unit (Spotlight): So I was doing a series of spotlight posts on various women and someone reached out to me to share about this young lady, who was working with the Family Support Unit in Sierra Leone. She was smashing ceilings and changing the narrative and I reached out to her for an interview (1500 views).

Going to Salone: Event? SHINE Freetown Homecoming 09: This was one of my first blog posts. You can tell by how badly put together it was haha I was trying to share as much as I could with those visiting Salone for the holidays (1226 views).

Your ECOWAS Passport is Useless in Guinea!: Ugh! Every time I go by road to Guinea or coming from Guinea by road or traveling within Guinea by road is a nightmare. Basically, this was me sharing about my most recent visit and the nightmare it was (1078 views).

Baba: Tell me a Story- Black Panther Movie Review (BHM Post): So, I also reviewed movies on occasion and of course given the MAGNITUDE of this movie, I received a lot of views for this post. To sum it up: great movie! Also one of the posts I did for a series of posts I do during Black History Month (BHM) [948 views].

One Africa Reels You In at First Listen: Jayarr is an artist and person I’ve known since like 2006? It has been a LONG time. I am always here to support Sierra Leonean artists even when they say we don’t 😉 (581 views).

Ebola: Just my thought, by Idriss Koroma: So I’ve known Idriss also for a LONG time. We literally left for the Peace Corps two weeks apart from each other. He gets on my last nerves (haha) and I don’t always agree with what he says, but he always has an interesting perspective and we have heated conversations. He was working for the Ministry of Health during the Ebola crisis in Sierra Leone and he had some thoughts (565 views).

This was a nice trip down memory lane. What I’ll do is that I’ll post a snippet of some of these as separate blog posts on my WordPress and link to the original post and that way I can post on my Voice of the Salone Diaspora FB page as Flashback Friday. It has been a long time and I am sure some people want to check these posts out now years later.

Peace and Love
